My boss - probably the coolest woman on the planet.
I’ve been immersed in this video project for my college library for some weeks now and it’s finally rapping up. My boss sent me an email asking if I would help her produce some hypnotherapy CD’s. Of course I agreed, one because I really like my boss, two because it’s another media centered project I get to be involved with.
When we were discussing the details of the project I told her I would help her under one condition: We put the work under a Creative Commons license. Because she doesn’t plan on making any money on this (and even if she was) her content shouldn’t be locked down. It should be available for people to use and spread around, with proper attribution of course. She happily agreed.
I hope that someone else will be able to sample and remix the work I’ve helped to create, and so on. I wouldn’t be half as interested in anything I do if it wasn’t for sampling and mixing.
I see it as a token of my gratitude toward the remix culture. My culture.
